Polycarbonate Skylight – General Cleaning Guidelines
Never ever use abrasive or high alkaline cleaners when cleaning your polycarbonate skylight panel.
Do not leave cleaners on your polycarbonate skylight panel for extended periods of time. Wash your Polycarbonate skylightpanel immediately with cold or clean water.
Do not apply cleaners in direct sunlight to the Polycarbonate skylight.
Never use sharp objects, razors or squeegees on your Polycarbonate skylight panel.
Do not clean with gasoline on the Polycarbonate skylight.
Always practice safetyfirst and never step directly on your Polycarbonate skylight panel.
Constantly test cleaners in a small inconspicuous area before cleaning entire polycarbonate skylight panel to insure against undesirable results.
Avoid using the pressure washer spray tip to come too close towards the polycarbonate skylight panel. Pressure washers frequently have enough pressure at the spray tip to penetrate or tear the polycarbonate skylight panel.
Prevent dry cleaning, as sand and dust particles clinging to the exterior of the polycarbonate panels may scratch the polycarbonate skylight surface.
Avoid cleaning the interior Polycarbonate skylight surface of DYNAGLAS and THERMAGLAS, as the effectiveness of the anti-condensate coating is potentially be diminished, depending on the cleaning method or material used.
Do not use scrapers or razors on Polycarbonate skylight.
Do not use squeegee on Polycarbonate skylight, Spallshield or any plastic surface.
Do not expose the edges of laminates with PVB (Polyvinyl Butyral) Interlayers, to organic solvents, which can react with the plastic interlayer of the Polycarbonate skylight. This includes but is not limited to, Naphtha VM&P Grade, Isopropyl Alcohol, Kerosene, Petroleum Spirits, or any Aliphatic Hydrocarbons.
Avoid cleaning the interior Polycarbonate skylight surface of DYNAGLAS and THERMAGLAS, as the effectiveness of the anti-condensate coating can potentially be diminished, depending on cleaning method or material used.
